Alaska 2004 -- Days 15-17
Day 15, Sunday June 15 ~ Kennicott to Anchorage
We started the day with a flightseeing flight back from McCarthy to Chitina. The pilots took a longer route and we had lots of marvelous views. At the Chitina airport we collected our gear and the vans. While the first group to fly waited for the second group we crossed over the McCarthy bridge and watched some salmon fisherman. Then we stopped in the town of Chitina before going on to the Wrangel-St.Elias National Park visitor center where we met up with the other group/van and took a group picture. Then we drove on to Anchorage.

Day 16, Monday June 16 ~ Anchorage
In the morning we first went to the Ship Creek to see the fisherman catching salmon. They then gutted them to get the roe. Next we visited the statehood memorial. Then we took a walk along the Coast Trail and past a nice park. In the afternoon we walked to the Anchorage Museum of History and Art. In between there was free time to explore the town.
