Alaska 2004 -- Day 14
Day 14, Saturday June 14 ~ Kennicott and McCarthy
Today was a much nicer day and we awoke to clear views of Mt. Blackburn at the head of the Kennicott Glacier. After breakfast we climbed uphill toward the Bonanza Mine at some 5,000 feet. The trail got increasingly steep and about six made it all the way to the mine. Then in the afternoon most took a shuttle to visit the metropolis of McCarthy. After dinner Wrangell Air gave a slide show.
