July 9-16, 2016.

July 9th happened to be our 50th Anniversary and in honor of the occasion 16 members of the family joined us at the Waldheim on Big Moose Lake in the Adirondacks.  We’ve all been to this old family run resort numerous times since 1979.  Joining us were Pete and his wife, June, and their three children Daniel (5), Nathan (16 months), and Abigail (6 months) and Sadie, their golden retriever from Wellesley, MA.   Lexi, our daughter-in-law, came from Vermont but Linnaea, her daughter now 10, was in camp.  Also joining us were Jenni’s brother Jim and his wife Mary from Swansea, MA, their son, Jon and wife, Beth, plus their children Liam (7) and Nora (6).  A surprise was that Jim and Mary’s other two adult children Sarah (Logan, Utah) and Jimmy (Castle Valley, Utah) and his dog also joined us for a few days.

For dinner on the 9th the staff prepared a special dessert.

Then Pete surprised us-no, astonished us-with an over 100 page Shutterfly book with many kind words, anecdotes, remembrances and pictures from friends around the world.   The book included more than 300 pictures describing our many adventures over the 50 years.  Unbeknown to us, Pete had surreptitiously raided Ralph’s slide and digital photo collections one weekend while we were away.
