One day we went to Ilet Pinel, a small island off the north east coast and a part of a large marine reserve.
We took a small ferry to get to the island:
We started at the wharf near the southeast corner of the island and hiked counterclockwise the path that does a loop around the island.
Iguanas guarded the way:
At this beach on the north shore we swam/snorkeled and had lunch. The swimming was great; the snorkeling was so-so but we did see a group of lobsters:
Upon completing the loop hike we found that most visitors to the island never left the arrival beach:
So we continued to the southern tip of the island, did a snorkeling trail:
and watched some birds:
