Tuesday June 28, 2011--A Rest Day
Just a few miles outside of Damascus is an unusual rock ridge called Backbone Rock. Years ago a short train tunnel was dug through it. Now the road goes through it and there is a trail on top of the rock.

That evening we went to Abingdon for dinner and to see "The 39 Steps" at the Barter Theatre.
