Hiking on the Appalachian Trail in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park

North Section Part 2

June 14:  Pecks Corner Shelter to Tri-Corner Knob Shelter; 5.2 mi. +1,757'

It was rather gray and misty when we got up in the morning and the local forecast was for rain later in the day.  So we did this short section quickly and got to Tri-Corner Knob Shelter before lunch.  After lunch it on and off rained and down poured for the rest of the day.

June 15:  Tri-Corner Knob Shelter to Cosby Knob Shelter; 7.7 mi. +1,134'

We emerged from Tri-Corner Knob Shelter in the morning to a rather wet landscape.
